The title of this article is Member Profile: Eric Schneider from Homes By Vets

The following is the full article details: Eric Schneider is the founder and co-owner of Pensacola based business Homes By Vets which constructs Steel Insulated Panel (SIP) homes in Northwest Florida. SIP homes are energy efficient, quick to build and nearly indestructible since they can withstand 175 winds. Eric’s mission for Homes By Vets is to be the preeminent home builder in Northwest Florida using the latest technology and a workforce made up of military veterans.

Eric was recently the featured speaker at the Gulf Breeze weekly chapter meeting on September 22 where he provided a more in-depth overview of Homes By Vets. Prior to the meeting he was gracious enough to answer some additional questions about his business and background.

Tell us about your business and how you got started.
I started Homes By Vets to help give back to the military community we live in. Being a transplant from Missouri, my wife and I fell in love with the area and did not realize the large military presence in the Panhandle. We decided to start Homes By Vets as a way to hire and work with as many Veteran Owned companies as possible to build a better home.

What services or products do offer?
I provide a one stop shop for your real estate needs. This includes helping my clients buy, sell, invest, or build new structurally insulated panel (SIP's) homes.

What is unique about your business?
I love what I do, and real estate is not a hobby for me, it is my full-time job. I draw from 20 plus years of experience ranging from sports medicine to healthcare IT sales, to over 8 years in the real estate industry to craft the perfect solution for each of my clients. I provide a first-time buyer with a budget of $100,000 the same level of service that I do for someone looking for a $1,000,000 home.

What can customers expect when doing business with you?
Someone that will exceed their expectations while also being very direct and telling them what makes sense and what doesn't.

To what do you attribute your success?
Willingness to constantly learn and better myself in the industry. I will do everything possible to craft the best solution for my clients, and if it doesn't work for that scenario, I'll have a plan B.

What is the best advice someone has ever given you?
Do not come to a boss/supervisor without at least one proposed solution to the problem you are dealing with.

What made you decide to start your business or choose this career path?
I was in the corporate sales world for over a decade and was getting burnt out when a friend introduced me to the real estate investment world. Started there, got my Realtors license, and moved to Florida to continue working in the industry.

Does your company help or get involved in the community in any way?
My mid-term goal is to bring a tiny home community to Pensacola to help both our Veterans and to help solve the problem of a affordable housing.

How has the past year dealing with COVID effected your business?
More cautious and guidelines in day-to-day operations including showing homes.

Have you had to change how you have had to do business during Covid?
I have had to do more virtual showings than ever before.

Are there any lessons that you have learned that you would like to pass on?
Life is tough, wear a helmet.

What led you to becoming a member of The One?
I wanted to join a group that was fresh to the area and not part of the "good ole boy" system. Other networking groups are oversaturated with my industry so being active in them did not benefit my business. I really love having one industry chair per group to avoid the same issues.

What have been the benefits to your business since joining The One?
Networking with like-minded individuals and learning from them on how they run their business has benefitted me.

Is there anything else that you want to add?
We are the best networking group in Gulf Breeze, come to a meeting and find out for yourself.

About The One
The One was created with a single purpose in mind – YOU! We are all about relationships, and all too often, networking organizations place restrictions on you and only allow you to network “their way”.

We believe relationships can’t be built and strengthened with handcuffs on so leave your nametags at the door, forget your networking affiliations (for the day), and start building the relationships that will help you succeed!

At the heart of The One are our local chapters which meet weekly for networking, relationship building, and business development. Each chapter is comprised of entrepreneurs, just like you, who believe that relationship building and networking are an essential part of the success of their businesses and careers. Membership in each chapter is exclusive where only one person per business category is allowed in each chapter. Each chapter holds in-person meetings every week and chapter membership consists of local business owners, entrepreneurs, and community leaders that live and work within the surrounding area of the established chapter.
